Week 1
Practice 1 - Ball Control - download/print
5 min - PARENT MEETING - Coaches Introduce yourself and have the players introduce themselves. Explain No Heading. Ask questions about proper dribbling, passing, and shooting techniques.
5 min - Rondo 9v1 - cirlce team in a 12x12 grid with one player as a defender in the middle (with cone or pinnie in hand). Players on the outside of the circle QUICKLY pass the ball around the circle using no more then 3 touches. When defender steals the ball he hands the cone or pinnie to the last offensive player who touched it (if it is a bad pass the passer goes into the middle). Defender does not go outside of the circle.
10 min - Pass To Teammate Using Both Feet - Make two lines of six cones with an even number of pairs in each line. Have each pair pass their way through the six cones. Once all pairs get to the end send the back the other way. If you have an odd number of players have a coach go with someone or someone goes twice.
1 min - Water Break
10 min - Cushion Control In Pairs - NO HEADING - Use feet, thighs, and chest. Have receiving players running in place in a ready position (quick feet).
1 min - Water Break
15 min - Split Lines To Receive - If you have 14 players create 2 grids next to each other. Have the extra pair rotate into the first grid. The pair who is rotated out of the 1st grid rotates into the second grid. The pair that rotates out of the 2nd grid rests. run each rotation for about 2 mins with quick rotations. If you have 15 players, make the grid slightly larger and use groups of three. Rotate the groups in every 2 mins.
1 min - Water Break
15 min - Box To Box
10 min - Scrimmage - Setup up cone goals on both sidelines. No goalies. Players score by DRIBBLING into the goal. No middle break
Practice 2 - Attacking - download/print
5 min - Mirror Movements Without a Ball - Pair up the players. When the coach says go one partner runs around area using fakes and change of pace to try to lose the other partner. The other partner copies their movements trying to stay with them. If you have odd numbers you can use a group of 3. Just have two partners copying.
10 min - Mirror Movements To A Cone - see pdf
TIPS: Setup 3 areas with multiple pairs. Each pair works for 1 min and then switch to the next pair.

10 min - Scrimmage to cone goals located on the sidelines. Players score by Dribbling through the goals. - You May Play The Other Team On Your Field
Week 2
Practice/Game - Defending - download/print
5 min - Explain proper defensive technique - one foot in front of the other about should width. Slightly bent knees. On balls of the feet. Try to direct defender to defensive help or to the sidelines (left up to coaches philosophies). Pressure, Cover, Balance (team). Meaning the player closest to the ball steps to pressure the ball. The teammates behind them will take positions in semi-tight angles approximately 5-10 yards behind them (closer to goal = closer defensive support). Players farther away and behind the pressuring defender will balance themselves with the cover man to allow enough time to get to longer passed balls and keep backside offensive players from getting past them while being onside. The team concept will be worked on later. If players are not understand right away do not worry about it. Concentrate more on the 1v1 defending.
